Anteater Mentorship Program
Mission Statement:
The saying "You learn something new every day" is undoubtedly applicable in today¹s society with the proliferation of acquired human knowledge. There is always something new to be learned by students as well as by teachers. Through the Anteater Mentorship Program (AMP), students will be provided a unique opportunity to meet peers at UC Irvine who have similar interests and aspirations. Each first year/international/transfer /commuter student (mentee) will be aptly paired with a second, third, fourth, or fifth year student (mentor). Meetings will be held on campus throughout the duration of the program during which informative guest speakers will offer insight about different aspects of UCI - professional opportunities, academic resources, and on-campus activities. Aside from the more formal gatherings, participants will be exposed to various locations in southern California for the fun social events. Although this program is designed for mentees to become acquainted with the campus, it also provides mentors a chance to build their professionalism and interpersonal skills, as well as expanding their network base at the same time.
