Hello Anteaters, my name is Taylor Chanes and I am your External Vice President (EVP)  for the 2016-2017 year. This year the External Vice President Office will work to promote student advocacy on a local, statewide and national level in order to ensure the affordability, accessibility, quality and diversity of our University. The EVP office aims to be a space that provides students with the tools and resources to use their own agency to organize and take action around issues that are important to them. During the year we take students to lobby in Sacramento, Washington D.C, and in the OC district. We also are responsible for taking student delegations to different student wide/run conferences where they can further develop organizing and advocacy skills. This year, ASUCI is excited to support students of color at UC Irvine as our communities of color host the 28th UCSA Student of Color Conference November 18-20th. Organizing around tuition, worker solidarity, and advancing human rights as students rights, the EVP office hopes to address injustices and support advocacy work and legislations that further challenges these issues. Drop by and say hi or just find out about all the projects and campaigns we will be working on this year!

The Chief of Staff is responsible for overseeing the Internal, Local, Statewide, and National branches in the EVP office. The COS should have knowledge and experience in advocacy work (legislative and grassroots) in order to assist branches. The COS will report back to the External Vice President, check in with the commissioners and their performance, do logistical work (book rooms, order supplies, etc) for the branches, be a support system for the branches, and ensure that the branches conduct their weekly meeting.

Hello Anteaters! My name is Brijesh Sharma and I am your EVP (External Vice President) Chief of Staff for the upcoming school year.  This will be my third year in the EVP office and I am excited to use the skills I gained in my previous positions to better serve UCI Students and the surrounding communities.  I will be responsible for overseeing the work of the Internal, Local, Statewide, and National Branches in the EVP office. My goal is to use my knowledge and experience in legislative and grassroots advocacy work to help members of EVP and ASUCI.  My main duties will be to report back to the Executive Vice President, do logistical work for branches, and be a support system for the branches.  If you have any questions/comments or would like to meet me, feel free to send me an email.
