Garden Initiative
The ASUCI Student Garden aims to establish a permanent student-run on-campus community garden dedicated to providing UCI students with education on sustainable agriculture and its relationship to the community, the economy, the earth and them. One way in which we provide these opportunities is by inviting student groups to use the garden space for their events. In addition to exposing students to the garden, these events and workshops help develop the community surrounding the garden, and ensure its continuity. Events at the garden are required to address topics in food in some form. Eligible events and workshops examples might include, but are not limited to, the following: • Class Lecture on Plant Biology • Seminar exploring different sides of a food-topic • Tour of the Garden • Workshops surrounding gardening topics, such as composting • Club or other student organization meetings • Cooking classes The ASUCI Garden Commission will work with you on the logistics, advertising, and even some of the costs of the event. Once you submit this application, we will ask a representative to meet with the Commission once, before finalizing a date and time for the event. The Garden Commission can also help introduce food-topics into your event. Once you have filled out this application, we will respond within two days with more information. Thank you for your interest!
