Chelsey Liwag-Estrada

Hello! My name is Chelsey Liwag-Estrada and this is my baby puppy Gidgit. I am a commuter (holla!) and double major in Psychology and Sociology. I love yoo-hoo, churros, sunny weather, mitsuwa, aquariums, wes anderson and mel brooks movies, mac dre, and banksy. I'm very fortunate to have had a crazy and humbling UCI experience that ranges from studying in the Netherlands (it was dope!) and working for the Cross-Cultural Center (intern), ASUCI (VP Student Services), and Jaded Magazine (External Affairs Coordinator). I think UCI is pretty awesome and am sad panda about graduating. Z0tz0rz.

Corrina Lee

Hello Eater Nation!!! I am very honored to be on your 2009 Homecoming Court! My name is Corinna Lee and I am an Arts and Humanities major with an Educational Studies minor. I have been on the UCI Spirit Squad for 4 years and am currently the captain. You can see my fellow Spirit Squad members and myself cheering on the sidelines at every Men and Women's basketball game. Go Eaters! I am currently a House Assistant in Arroyo Vista for my sorority, Delta Delta Delta. I also have the privilege this year to be the Executive Director for Greek Songfest, a yearlong philanthropy that utilizes 18 fraternities and sororities. This year my executive board and myself are aiming to raise twenty thousand dollars for the UC Irvine Medical Center. I was also a staff member for the Student Parent Orientation Program for two summers and had the time of my life interacting with the incoming freshmen and my fellow staff members. Last summer I had the opportunity to study abroad in Barcelona and backpack through Europe with one of my best friends. I have enjoyed by time here at UCI and hopefully I will see you at the homecoming game February 28th! Rip Em' Eaters!

Frannie Resch

Frannie Resch is a graduating senior majoring in both Drama and Political Science. Frannie has dedicated herself to her sorority, Alpha Phi, performing such roles as the Director of Continuous Open Bidding, and the Vice President of Program Development. Frannie is also an active member of One Million Ways, an organization striving to better the global world through local action, was a best buddy to a young man with autism through the UCI organization Best Buddies, and has been on cast for songfest (an all-Greek philanthropic event) all four years--and is currently choreographing for the 2009 production. In addition to her commitment both to her sorority and service , Frannie is dedicated to striving for excellence in academics as she is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Gamma Sigma Alpha, and the treasurer of the executive board for the Order of Omega. While attending UCI, Frannie was involved in the successful campaign focused on making cage-free eggs the norm on campus.

The opportunity to be Homecoming Princess gives Frannie great pride, as she deeply believes that UCI is developing into a nationally recognized school. Regardless of whether we have a football team or not, we have pride in our school, and Homecoming 2009 is going to be a great throwback to our appreciation of all those who came before us. Therefore, please come out and support all of the UCI Homecoming events--not just for the Homecoming Royal Court--to show pride in our school.

Melissa Norrbom

Hello UCI! My name is Melissa Norrbom, but many of you know me as Norby! A strange name I know, but in fact it is quite fitting. You may recognize me from my involvements within the Greek Community, Middle Earth, Campus Representatives, SPOP, or just because we have happened to run into each other a few times. It's true that I'm a really busy girl, but it's only because I love giving myself in service to the entire campus community and everyone in it. UCI has become my home over the past 4 years and there is no where else I could imagine spending this time. DUH!But in any case, if I don't know you, I hope to get to know you through all the crazy Homecoming events coming up! See you around the Ring!

Tiffany Amsler

I am truly honored to be on the Homecoming Court 2009.

A few months ago, I never thought of running for Homecoming Queen, but after being encouraged by others and reevaluating my past four years, I realized I could represent UC Irvine as a scholar, a leader, a friend, and a role model. When I first came to UCI, I was overwhelmed by the amount of opportunities and unexplored territories that our campus had to offer. I sat amazed by our campus's leaders and hoped that one day I would be able to leave an imprint on UC Irvine's campus just like those before me.

Now, as I look back at my past four years, I feel I have achieved those things. I am incredibly thankful for the friendships, opportunities, and education that I have been fortunate enough to receive. Those who know me would describe me as someone who genuinely cares for others, works hard to dedicate herself to her involvements, will go out of her way to make someone smile, is brimming with enthusiasm and encouragement, and loves life. Along with other involvements, I serve as the Administrative Internship Program Coordinator, a Housing Assistant in Arroyo Vista, and mentor children through Martial Arts training. Through these experiences, I can honestly say that UC Irvine has shaped who I am today and has become like a second home to me.

James Fraser

James Bodie Stewart Fraser. One man with four names and one goal, Homecoming King. Whether you see me driving the shuttles around campus or on the rugby field, I will always be throwing up a Rip 'Em Eaters sign and yelling "ZOT." Come out and support your campus during Homecoming and join me in my quest to be your Homecoming King.

Justin Barker

My Campus Involvements are, Mesa Court Housing (Mesa Court Council Marketing Chair), LARC Tutor (Brain and Behavior and Drugs and the Brain), Disability Services Center (Proctor and Note-taker), SPOP Staffer (Teal Year), Independent Research (Dr. Roxanne Silver) Independent Research (Dr. Eric Knowles), Kappa Sigma (Rush Chair) Songfest (Seussical and In The Heights), Anteater Mentorship Program (Mentor and Cluster Leader), ASUCI Spirits Intern, Student Center Advisory Board, Pub Advisory Board, and Gamma Sigma Alpha.

I am first and foremost grateful for my friends and family—I got to visit home before I wrote this, and the best parts of me come from my mom, dad, and brother. I currently live with three of my best friends (Casey, Dustin, and Jake) and they make everyday a little bit better.

I believe that college does not teach you course material, it teaches you how to think and how to learn. If I can leave UCI with those two abilities, I think I will do fine in life.

UCI is an incredible university—we have a continuously expanding campus, prestigious professors, and clubs and organizations that satisfy a wide variety of social, academic, and cultural interests. If you can’t already see this, you need to look harder.

When freshman enter UCI, everyone says, “Make sure to get involved.” In my fourth year at UCI, I understand why people say that. I feel blessed to have been a part of a variety of organizations and on campus involvements. I have met more amazing people in my time at UCI than I have in the rest of my life. UCI is what you make of it, and I will look back on my time in college with only the fondest memories (and thank God that I got rejected from UCSB). Go Anteaters!

Max Broad

If you find this picture funny at all, you probably can appreciate my subtle and dry sense of humor. In fact, I'm not one to typically poke fun at myself, but I find it hard to believe that Donald Trump's hair was not once a living organism.

I know you are expecting me to continue on that exciting run of comedy, but I have to let you down. To tell you about myself, Max Broad is all about sustainability. If you can imagine those bothersome people who follow you through every room turning off the lights behind you, you probably know me better than you do your dorm roommate.

I do want to give a shoutout to the whole Homecoming scene. UCI has a faulty reputation as a commuter school. In fact, it is residents going home on the weekend that award us that reputation, despite having one of the largest on-campus housing percentages of the UCs. So the image of our school lacking in spirit is self-imposed and unnecessary. The simple idea is that the more people who come out this week the more fun it will be. So be the change you want to see in the student body; join me this homecoming week.

Roy Chan

During the last four years, UCI has provided me an opportunity to experience the richest expressions of both mind and soul. As a Criminology Law & Society major with triple minors in English Literature, Anthropology, and Educational Studies, I desire to be your 2009 Homecoming King because I have embodied the spirit of the UC Irvine community through the values of integrity, empathy, commitment, and fun. Through the principles of service and action, I?ve been able to participate and lead in numerous extracurricular activities, including ASUCI, the Division of Undergraduate Education, community service projects, religious organizations, fraternities, as well as the performing arts both in the dance and music department. One of the most rewarding experiences I?ve had at UCI has been my involvement as a University Studies Discussion Leader, where I have had the honored privilege to provide incoming students a better self-awareness of their identity and serve as an encouraging role model, which instilled within me the very essence of leadership.

After UCI, I will be joining Teach For America this fall to help eliminate educational equity in a low community area for two years and become a leader in educational equality. In the future, I aspire to attend law school and become an advocate and a lecturer in environmental law.

Some things about myself...I LOVE frozen yogurt, hiking, Italian food, traveling, LOST, watching the sunset, cooking/baking, rainy days, laughing at things that doesn?t seem funny, good cup of coffee/tea, snowboarding, art history, French Fries with ranch sauce, singing in the car, dogs, church, trying new things, long adventures, breakfast at McDonalds, visiting new hot restaurants in LA, wearing fashionable things, smiling, long walks at the beach, and going to UCI :)

Sunil Shah

Hey I'm Sunil and I'm on UCI's Homecoming Court 2009. I have been actively involved in on campus organizations since I first came to UCI. Some of these are ASUCI, SPOP, and Greek Life. I am also the only student from the School of Engineering. I'm proud not only to represent these parts of campus life, but this campus as a whole as it comes together during this week. I'm proud to be on court and I will promise to give you someone to cheer on (or laugh at) at this week's homecoming events. So come out and support UCI!
