Silva Arjian
Homecoming Queen Candidates
What’s up to all my Anteatersssss!!!!
My name is Silva Arjian and it’s such a great honor to represent this amazing school by being a member of the 2011 Homecoming Court. For those of you who don’t know me I’m a fourth year double major in Political Science and International Studies. I’m a local to Orange County, growing up in Fountain Valley, by the beach. Irvine and Newport are two cities I had frequented on more than a weekly basis growing up and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. UCI has given me the opportunity to flourish and grow into a sassy Anteater by being involved in multiple campus organizations. I have been a member of ASUCI since my Freshman year, being an intern for the offices of Student Services, Executive Vice President, and Administrative Affairs. Under the office of Student Services I was on intern for the festivals commission for three years, actually planning Homecoming, which is where my excitement and desire to be on court began. Under the Executive Vice President I served as an intern for the Civics Center Board. I also was given the opportunity to work with the Disabilities Services Center on campus, as intern planning a golf tournament with the hopes of starting a scholarship for UCI Veterans and students with disabilities. I have taken pride in the cultural aspects of myself as well, participating in many Armenian Student Assosciation programs and starting my very own club, Act for Armenia. Presently I am the Chair of the Student Center Advisory Board, focusing on making the center a better place for students, just finished up a year long executive officer term in my Panhellenic chapter Alpha Chi Omega, as the Vice President of Education, and am beginning a new term as the Le Carnival Jr. Executive position, planning the largest philanthropy our chapter holds. My duties in the Greek system also include being Vice Chair of Greek Week, a week long friendly competition held to cultivate unity amongst different chapters. Like many of you Anteaters I have also taken a liking to the fantastic housing community this campus cultivates, as a Housing Assistant for Arroyo Vista. When I’m not working on campus I spend my time in a classroom setting as a special education aid for the Fountain Valley School District, definitely one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. This campus has honored me many times as I received the Order of Omega Most Outstanding New Initiate Award, ASUCI Student Services Intern of the Quarter, Gamma Sigma Alpha and Order of Omega honors society member, and now with simply being a Princess for the 2011 Homecoming Court. I would love and truly appreciate the honor of being your 2011 Homecoming Queen and ask that you believe in me to represent this campus correctly. I’m a spunky athlete, as I have spent the last 11 years playing basketball, with an effervescent spunky personality who is genuinely ecstatic about life. Let’s have an amazing Homecoming Week Eaters!!!! Zot Zot Zot.
