What Homecoming means to you
Homecoming to me means bringing students from all different sectors of campus together with alumni, parents, and community members to celebrate UCI. It’s a chance for students to come out to several events during the week with the purpose of representing the place they attend school as well as the place many may call home.
Why do you want to be king/queen?
Throughout my undergraduate career, I have been fortunate to form part of several
communities at UCI allowing me to grow and become informed with the guidance of
peers, faculty, and staff while also enhancing my knowledge about UCI and the world. Being exposed to these areas at UCI, I am able to represent various UCI students by relating to the struggles some may face and considering the differences we might have.
Favorite/most memorable moment or accomplishment at UCI?
I cherish all the opportunities that I have had at UCI, but the most memorable moment that I have are those when I am able to speak to elementary school students who will be the first in their family to go to college. As a first generation college student, when I arrived, I had many unanswered questions and therefore seek to answer and spark the interest to pursue college in the future of elementary students through my experiences and stories.

If I could have any super power, I would want the ability to speak every

to hear everyone's story.
What Homecoming means to you
Homecoming is an event that allows the UCI community to promote school
spirit with activities, food, and entertainment. It's a time to welcome
back our alumni and to support our hard-working basketball team. During
the homecoming festival, clubs and organizations have the opportunity to
share their accomplishments with the community. The homecoming court also
participates in many competitions to bring the campus together and show
off their school spirit.
Why do you want to be king/queen?
I want to be UCI's 2012 homecoming queen because I want every single
anteater to share my passion for this school. I want everyone to graduate
from UC Irvine feeling like they made a difference on this campus, whether
that be through joining a club or organization, playing on a sports team,
or being a great friend/mentor. UC Irvine provides so many opportunities
for students to get involved and I want everyone to take advantage of
them. I want to encourage everyone to find something they are passionate
about and go for it! My experiences at UCI have allowed me to create an
incredible relationship with so many people who have made a strong impact
in my life. I wouldn't be the person I am today if it weren't for my
family, my friends, and the experiences I've acquired at UC Irvine.
Favorite/most memorable moment or accomplishment at UCI?
Having the opportunity to be the Resident Advisor for Gondolin in Middle
Earth has been the most rewarding and incredible experience at UC Irvine.
At the end of the year, a group of my residents asked everyone in the hall
to write a note to another hallmate. They collected these notes and
created a Memory Walk by stringing the cards along the staircase. No one
knew what the cards were for but when they woke up the next morning, they
were all amazed. Over 200 notecards were placed along the staircase and
it made all of us realize how many wonderful memories we've created with
each other throughout the year. I am so lucky that I had the opportunity
to spend every single day with my residents and watch so many friendships
form within our hall.

To me homecoming means spirit. I feel that it is a week long opportunity for students to show their support and the enthusiasm they have for UCI.Why Do You Want to Be Queen
I wanted to be on homecoming court because I believe it is another great adventure to experience before I graduate. Court members get to meet leaders from across campus, have fun, and show their love and passion for our school. Who wouldn't want to be a part of that?Favorite/Most Memorable Moment or Accomplishment at UCI
My favorite moment/accomplishment at UCI is watching Toy Story 3, with my best friends, in the park for Screen on the Green after a hectic, successful, and memorable day of breaking the dodgeball world record for the first time.

I can lick my elbow. Ask me and I’ll prove it to you.• What Homecoming means to you
Homecoming is an exceptional honor that only occurs once in one’s college career. I have the opportunity not just to represent myself, but all the organizations and people I have encountered throughout my college career here at UCI.• Why do you want to be king/queen?
I want to be nominated as Homecoming Queen to help strengthen Alumni retention and encourage students to actively support the UCI community. My goal is to keep the UCI spirit alive and remind students that UCI is not just a university, but the heart of unforgettable memories and lasting friendships.• Favorite/most memorable accomplishment at UCI?
My experience at UCI has allowed me to step outside of my comfort zone and challenge my intellectual capacity. Starting off as a Biology major, then switching to Chemistry, and finally finding my passion in Art History, I have really expanded my intellectual curiosity. It has been a privilege to meet astonishing professors and obtain information from a wide range of subjects in both the science and humanities departments. Through my process of switching majors, I am more self-aware of my strengths and weaknesses and it has driven my passion in becoming a Registered Nurse.

Favorite/most memorable moment at UCI?
You may not believe this, but one of my most favorite hobbies
is...creating cheers!! (It’s true.) When I was a freshman, I was eager to
create a UCI Cheer for my community service organization Circle K! After
watching “Stomp the Yard”, a movie about stomping and cheering, I was
inspired to create a “UCI Stomp Cheer”! My most memorable moment at UCI
was when I started doing my cheer at a UCI Basketball Game!!! At first it
was only my friends who were doing the cheer, but then the audience
started to watch us and they went wild!! They wanted to join in so I
thought them the cheer!! Twenty minutes later the audience did my cheerover and over again and we WON the game! ::Sigh:: I love UC Irvine. :)

"We've got much more control than money. You can't get everything. We live in a society where money is what people want, so they can't get the control. We chose. Control is freedom. People say we're control freaks, but control is controlling your destiny without controlling other people. We're not trying to manipulate other people, just controlling what we do ourselves. Controlling what we do is being free. People should stop thinking that an artist that controls what he does is a bad thing. A lot of artists today are just victims, not having control, and they're not free. And that's pathetic. I enjoy watching classic movies. I literally google "Academy Awards Best picture" and find movies that were nominated then I watch one or two. Try it!Homecoming
Homecoming to me is an opportunity for undergraduates and alumni to recollect their times at UCI, share stories, and also support our Anteater athletes. Why me?
Since my 1st year I've been attending all homecoming games and have been inspired by all Homecoming Court candidates. Ever year the candidates demonstrate their contribution to the UCI community and inspire others to do their best during their undergraduate years. I have been one to be inspired and have pushed myself to do my best for myself and others. As king I hope to inspire that first year that may be scared to get involved, that second year who is dealing with personal issues, and that third or fourth year that may be worried about graduating. Most memorable accomplishment
I have two most memorable accomplishments at UCI. First, serving as a SPOP Staffer greatly impacted me as a person, opened my mind, and in return I was able to give back to all the incoming freshmen. Second, serving as President of my fraternity gave me the opportunity to work with other Greek Life presidents and try to encourage them to do their best.
