Whereas Legislative Council and ASUCI as a whole will benefit from increased publicity,

Whereas events such as the Vendor Fair and free snacks have proven to be an effective manner in attracting student campus attention,

Whereas it is the implied duty of not only Legislative Council members but ASUCI leadership in general to engage actively with their constituents,

Whereas Friday of Week 9 (Winter, 2014) appears most ideal for a collaborative event within ASUCI leadership,

Whereas it currently states under ASUCI Legislative Council By-Laws, Article III MEMBERSHIP PROVISIONS, section A, subsection 2b,  

“Each Council member shall be recommended to staff an ASUCI information table as needed each quarter.”

Let it be resolved that Legislative Council set up a booth on Ring Road on Friday (March 7, 2014) from 11am-3:30pm to give out scantrons, bluebooks, and snacks/drinks purchased using funds from Legislative Council’s unallocated fund (6501-7115) with the following amounts:

F-288 scantrons (250 count/unit price $.23) - $57.50

F-158 scantrons (250 count/unit price $.23) - $57.50

Large bluebook (250 count/unit price $.45) - $112.50

Snacks and/or drinks - $450

Taxes - Around $55

Total - $732.50

Let it further be resolved that every school represented on council (including all council members presently serving within it) ensure their availability for at least half an hour within the tabling period on Friday (March 7, 2014) for which they will be allotted $50 of the total $450 to spend towards the provided food and/or nonalcoholic drinks at their discretion. A sign-up sheet will be passed out after meeting.

            Let it finally be resolved that Legislative Council extend the invitation to participate in this event, to executive officers, Judicial board members, and any other members of Associated Students UC Irvine.
