All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Creation of Student Fee Special Committee

Whereas the Regents of the University of California decided on Thursday, November 19th, 2009 to increase student tuition by 32 percent, and

Whereas this decision affects the entire student population of the University of California, and

Whereas this decision has led to student unrest in the form of protests, rallies, letter-writing, coalition-building and other movements with the purpose of voicing student concern, and

Whereas it is the responsibility of Legislative Council to advocate for and act upon the concerns of students,

Let it therefore be resolved that a Student Fee Special Committee be created to address the affect of fee increases on UC students and develop an appropriate plan of action.
