REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: UC System Budget Slideshow Presentation on ASUCI Website

Whereas, one of the main goals of Legislative Council this year is to foster a clear communicative relationship between the student body and the affairs of the University of California Irvine.

 

Whereas, Legislative Council seeks to clarify any discrepancy regarding decisions relevant to the budget cuts.

 

Whereas, Legislative Council decided, with the guidance of ASUCI President Megan Braun, to invite members of the UC Irvine finance department to communicate a clear and tangible presentation, explaining some reasons that provoked reasons regarding the tuition hikes, staff and faculty layoffs as well as the limited resources within the UC Irvine campus. 

 

Whereas, Legislative Council found this presentation useful in clarifying certain decisions made by the UC System regarding the budget cuts.

 

Whereas, it is one of the goals as Legislative Council members to work as a liaison and communicate any information that may provide clarification for the student body as a whole,

 

Let it therefore be resolved that the representatives of Legislative Council be responsible for uploading certain slides of the presentation by the UC Irvine finance department on the ASUCI Website in which students will be able to access and find as an informative tool in explaining various discrepancies regarding the budget of the UC Irvine and the UC system as a whole.
