All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full. |

| Synopsis: Additional Voting Stations During ASUCI Fall and Spring Election Weeks | |

| Whereas, it is the duty of the Associated Students of UC Irvine (ASUCI) to ensure the students of the University of California, Irvine have multiple accesses to online voting during voting periods; and, Whereas, a university should be demonstrating the importance of voting in our democracy; and, Whereas, the full participation of young people in the political process is vital to a vibrant and equal democracy; and, Whereas, it is important for students to voice and express their opinions on issues that affect them; and, Whereas, only about 30% of the UC Irvine undergraduate students participated in voting in the ASUCI Spring 2012 elections and less than 10% of the UC Irvine undergraduate students participated in voting in the ASUCI Fall 2013 elections; and, Whereas, ASUCI Spring Elections include the chance of voting on referendums that affects UC Irvine student body as a whole; and, Whereas, ASUCI commits to raising the percentage of undergraduate student voters every year; and, Let it be resolved that ASUCI wants the UC Irvine campus to commit to offering students easy opportunities and accesses to voting during ASUCI elections; and, Let it be finally resolved that ASUCI Elections Commission creates at least three voting booths and/or locations, [at least 1 in Student Center Plaza, at least 1 in Social Sciences Plaza, and at least 1 in Engineering near the Donald Bren Hall] that can allow students to vote easily and quickly during ASUCI Fall and Spring Election weeks. |
