 Wayzgoose 2008

Posted by Alex Kusher:

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Let it be known that on Saturday April 19, 2008, ASUCI will be hosting the annual Wayzgoose Festival in Aldrich Park from 10:00AM to 6:00PM. The Wayzgoose Festival will be held in conjunction with the campus open house, “Celebrate UCI”, and will feature entertainment stages, carnival rides, medieval societies, and much more. We are inviting all campus groups to participate in Wayzgoose by operating a food, game, or informational booth that contributes to the medieval theme. Your support is very important to our community image and this is a great opportunity for your group to recruit new members, raise money, or perform a group activity. Last year was a huge success, with over 110 groups participating!

Wayzgoose is a medieval festival and we strongly encourage each group to reflect the medieval theme in their booth decorations and attire. Cash prizes will be awarded this year to booths best representing the theme in each of the following categories: booth design, theme related activity, and most original group costume.

Please note the following facts and dates:

Friday, February 29 Booth sign-ups begin in ASUCI at 9:00AM
Friday, April 4 Booth sign-ups end at 5:00PM in ASUCI

There is a limit of three booths selling the same item. For example, only three groups can sell hot dogs. There are only 25 electrical booth spaces, which are available on a first come first served basis at the time of booth sign-up.

In our continuing effort to reward those who plan ahead, Wayzgoose booth spaces will remain self-assigned this year. To officially sign-up, your group must select your booth’s location, determine your booth activity, and pay the registration fee in full.

We hope that you will share in the excitement and the enthusiasm that is the 2008 Wayzgoose Festival. If you should have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us in ASUCI at (949) 824-5547
