Other items not listed may not be permitted at discretion of Bren Events Center Management upon Entrance. We CANNOT hold items for you if you bring something that is not allowed inside the Bren. Please make arrangements to leave any banned items at home.

How do I reserve a ticket?

Tickets will be available on the Shock website (www.asuci.uci.edu/shocktoberfest) starting at 11:59pm on Wednesday 10/12/11. There will be a link to purchase tickets on the Home Page. Step-by-step instructions will be provided. There will be 4,800 tickets available to currently enrolled UCI undergraduate students. Your ticket will be linked to your UCI Student ID card so you will need to bring your ID to Shocktoberfest. You will not get a physical ticket. Your email conformation of your ticket will not work as a ticket and will not get you into the event.

Can I still attend if they run out of tickets?

Yes. After the 4,800 tickets are given out, there will be 500 Overflow tickets distributed through the same ticketing website. People who receive an Overflow ticket should line up at the Anteater Statue in front of the Bren. Space permitting, people with Overflow tickets will be allowed in starting at 8:30pm.

What happens if I lose my Student I.D. Card?

If you lose your student I.D. you’ll need to go to UC Items to purchase a replacement. UCI Items is open from 9am-5pm Monday-Friday and from 9am-1pm on Saturdays. Standard replacement fees apply.

Can I bring a guest?

A limited number of guest tickets will be available for undergraduate students to purchase through the ticket website. The cost for a guest ticket is $20, and must be paid with debit or credit card at the same time of student ticket reservation. Once payment is received, you will be prompted to print your guest ticket. Your guest must take this ticket and present it at the event to enter. Your guests will be able to attend the street festival portion of the event regardless of whether or not they have a guest ticket or not.

What time does Shocktoberfest start?

Shocktoberfest starts at 5:30pm on Mesa Road, outside the Bren.

Is there a lost and found?

Lost items will be taken to the UCI Police Department located on Pereira and East Peltason.

What types of booths will be at the street fair?

There will be UCI club booths, as well as various sponsor booths giving away free promotional material.

Where should I park for this event?

The closest parking structure to the Bren Events Center is the Mesa Parking Structure. Parking is $10.00 for the day. We encourage you to carpool or take the free Anteater Express if you live on campus which will have extended shuttle times for east campus residents.

How late do the shuttles run?

Shocktoberfest Anteater Express Service will run from 5:00pm until 1:30am.

How do I enter myself into the costume contest?

Please visit the STA Travel booth to enter into the costume contest. The grand prize will be an $800 Travel Voucher with Lufthansa Airlines to Europe.

I am a UCI alumnus. Am I still allowed to come to the event?

The Alumni Association is a co-sponsor of the event and will have a limited amount of tickets available for alumni. All alumni are invited to the street festival portion of the event, which begins at 5:30PM. Please visit www.alumni.uci.edu for more information.

I am an Extension Student. Can I come to the event?

UCI Extension has reserved a limited number of tickets for Extension Students to purchase for $20. To purchase a ticket, please email esl_activities@unx.uci.edu, call 949-824-8530 or visit the Extension Office, building # 238 on the campus map.

I am a graduate student. Am I allowed to come to the event?

While this event is fully funded through undergraduate fees, we will allow graduate students to self-sponsor for a guest ticket. The cost is $20, and must be paid in credit or debit card on the ticket purchasing website. All graduate students are invited to the street festival portion of the event, which begins at 5:30PM.

Where can I get a press pass if I am part of the media?

Please contact Mark Deppe at mdeppe@uci.edu by October 12th if you would like to cover Shocktoberfest and need to obtain a press pass. You will need to provide proof of your affiliation with the media.

Where are the closest ATM machines?

ATM machines are located at the Bren Events Center next to the Ticket Office.

Will there be lockers available for the students to store their stuff?

No, there will be no lockers at the event. Please plan accordingly and bring as little as possible in order to expedite the Bren entry process.

Will there be a First Aid station or kit around in case of an emergency or injury?

Yes, the Bren will have an EMT on site.

When will Mesa Road close and re-open?

Mesa Road will close on October 14th, 2011 at 10:00am. It will re-open 10:00am on October 15th, 2011.

Will there be toilets at this event?

Yes, we will have portable toilets outside the Bren. There are also flushable toilets in the Bren Events Center bathrooms.

After I get inside the Bren with my ticket, am I allowed to leave and re-enter?

No, there will be no re-entry privileges at this event. Wristbands guarantee your entry into the Bren until 8:30pm.

I am an international student. Am I allowed to come to the event?

You are welcome to enjoy the street festival that takes place at 5:30pm as well as the Aftershock Dance Party that follows the concert. However, entry in to the Bren requires a ticket which are only available to UCI undergraduate students, their guests, and a limited number of UCI alumni, graduate students, and Extension students. You are welcome to come as a guest of a UCI undergraduate students.
All students, staff, faculty, alumni and their guests may enjoy the street festival on Mesa Road, which begins at 5:30pm.
