Outdoor festival

     Every year Shocktoberfest begins with an outdoor street festival on Mesa Road with free food, giveaways, games, our annual Halloween costume contest, and performances by your favorite UCI dance crews. In past years the outdoor festival has had interactive sponsor booths such as Wahoo’s tacos, AT&T, and our own UCI bookstore!  There will be live music and entertainment on our outdoor stage for your viewing and listening pleasure.  Students come out to Mesa Road starting at 5:30pm to enjoy these outdoor festivities and spend time before the main event begins. 

 

Midnight Magic

                Midnight Magic is a tradition across the country to honor the kick off of the NCAA basketball season.  After entering the Bren Events Center students will get to preview the talents of our Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams in both a 3-point and dunk contest.  Last year our very own Coach Turner even showed his skills by participating in the dunk contest! Previously, our spirit squad and select dance crews have kicked off midnight magic to raise the energy and spirit amongst the UCI students attending Shocktoberfest.

 

Concert

Prepare to be shocked! ASUCI’s sixth annual event will again include ASUCI’s only indoor concert in our very own Bren Events Center. After enjoying Midnight Magic students will be able to rock to a live concert with handpicked hip hop and rock artists.  In the past performers such as Lupe Fiasco, Shwayze, Gym Class Heroes, Three Six Mafia, and Cali Swag District have graced the stage with awesome sets that keep the students pumped and excited all night long!  Keep checking the website to find out who this year’s artists will be.

After Shock

                After the concert the night will end the way it began, back on Mesa Road, for our traditional After Shock street dance party. Students will be able to dance to the DJ mixes of DJ Miles one of our very own UC Irvine Alumni! In previous years our generous sponsors have provided glows sticks to all students in the crowd to contribute to the dance/club theme of After Shock. This year Rockstar will be providing free drinks to keep the energy alive late into the night.  Make sure to check out this years After Shock, because the party is not over after the concert!
