For the first time in history, UCI will be attempting to break the record for the world’s largest game of Capture the Flag! Admission is free!

Alongside the record, UCI Give Back, an annual philanthropy event, will honor the month of September with its “Fight for Change” campaign. September creates awareness for childhood cancer, gynecologic cancer, leukemia, lymphoma, ovarian cancer, prostate cancer, and thyroid cancer.

On behalf of UCI Give Back, ASUCI Anteaters in Action will be hosting a craft activity at the ASUCI booth at the ARC Fields at 10:00 AM, prior to the world record. Brighten up a cancer patient’s day at our local hospital by creating and donating a handmade craft to them on the spot! No artistic abilities are required. Just your thought and time.

Monetary donations for this campaign will also be accepted. All proceeds will go to Pink Dot and Stand Up to Cancer.

The first 5,000 participants can receive a commemorative record shirt. Fight with your selected team to capture the flag and help us “Fight for Change.”

If you are caught violating the rules and/or the safety of others, you will be asked to leave the event. Please review the guidelines and rules below regarding the game and safety.

GENERAL
Capture the Flag will be 30 minutes. Participants of EVERY physical ability are welcome to play. Prior to the beginning of the game, they will select their preferred team: blue or gold. Each participant will also receive a ribbon to represent their "life" in the game. They can select whether they will play offense or defense.

OBJECTIVES
Participants from each team must successfully capture the opposing team's flags without being tagged. More than 20 flags will be located at each team’s designated home base. Each team must tag their opponents to prevent them from capturing their flags. The team with the highest number of flags by the end of the game wins!

GUIDELINES
Participants MUST bring their UCI ID and complete AND print a waiver (http://www.asuci.uci.edu/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/World-Record-Waiver-2015.pdf), which must be presented for entry.
If participants are caught violating the safety of others, they will be asked to leave the event.
Those who wish to leave before the official end of the event will lose their T-shirt.

RULES
1) Participants CANNOT touch the flags until the official start of the game.
2) Participants are considered safe as long as they stand in their team's designated territory.
3) Participants must tag their opponents with TWO hands in the following approved areas: nowhere above the chest and nowhere below the waist.
4) Participants CANNOT tag with excessive force.
5) If participants decide to play defense, they can remain stationary in one spot on their team's territory and tag incoming participants from the opposing team.
6) Once participants have been tagged (i.e. "captured"), they must wait for a referee/staff member to remove their "life" ribbon and will officially be eliminated from the game.
7) Eliminated participants CANNOT leave until the game ends after 30 minutes.
8) HAVE FUN!
