Welcome Week is a week-long series of events at UCI designed to build excitement for the upcoming school year, to introduce new students to campus, and to promote our unique Anteater culture. The daily events provide opportunities for students to explore campus, to meet new people, and to enjoy live entertainment before the rush of fall quarter. From the New Student Convocation on Monday to Beach Day on Friday, students will find activities that satisfy all interests. The Anteater Involvement Fair in Aldrich Park on Monday features over 350 clubs and organizations along with student. Monday night also includes a student favorite, Late Night at the Arc, a chance for students to participate in activities and learn all about what the Anteater Recreation Center has to offer. One of the most anticipated events of the week is Aldrich Park After Dark, a free concert on Tuesday night with past performances by top music artists like Chiddy Bang and Shiny Toy Guns. On Wednesday, UCI will reclaim the Guinness World Record for Largest Dodgeball game, a title won at Welcome Week in 2010. On Thursday night after the #14 ranked UCI women’s soccer team takes on #2 ranked Portland team, ASUCI will screen X-Men First Class out on Crawford Fields. But the concerts, movie nights, and world-breaking dodgeball games are only some of the activities to look forward to during the week. By the end, students are ready to start the year, fully immersed in campus life and UCI spirit. ZOT! ZOT!
