International Student Advocacy

Vanessa Le

International Student Advocacy Officer

Hello there! My name is Vanessa Le and I am a third year Education Sciences major minoring in Korean Literature and Culture. This is my first time in ASUCI, but I am genuinely excited to do work actively in order to support the international student body through this position. I am a bit of an introvert, a definite boba fiend, I have been playing badminton for 6 years, my favorite artists & their music mean the world to me, and I love any place with a nice view! In short, I promise that I’m an approachable person, so please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns. As I am growing with this position myself, I will gladly receive any and all feedback!

Office Hours: Wednesdays 4pm-5pm in ASUCI Office

The International Advocacy Officer is responsible for the initiation, management, and growth of international student advocacy programs. Acting as a bridge between ASUCI Board and the international student body, the International Advocacy Officer engages student voices in order to support initiatives and ultimately enhance the international student experience. Service will also include working with each of the campus-affiliated student organizations and connecting with other international student advocacy leaders to support various international student objectives.

The main vision of the International Student Advocacy Officer is to develop and push for more transparent, accessible support for the international student body by educating students about ASUCI and its resources. While working to connect international students with various populations around campus and by providing professional developmental opportunities, the International Student Advocacy Officer aims to help international students integrate fluidly into campus life and society and enhance student life as thriving members of the UCI community.
