REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: ICS Breakfast Social

Whereas, the ICS Breakfast Social was a successful event last year since
it improved communication between students/faculty and Dean Richardson,
increased ICS club involvement and communication, and gave the ICS
representative a chance to gain insight and feedback from her
constituents, and

Whereas, the ICS representative made a commitment to participate in
hosting the event prior to her resignation and has requested that the
“Science Alliance” representatives fill in during her absence in
representing the students of the School of Information and Computer
Science, and

Whereas, providing snacks and drinks will help attract faculty and
students to bring them together in an informal setting that will allow
them to exchange ideas and information, and

Whereas, ASUCI will be providing money for the purchase of necessary items
for the event, WICS (Women In Computer Science) will work with the ICS
Representative by helping to plan the event, pass out fliers, set-up prior
to the social, work at the event, and clean up once the event has ended,

Therefore, let it be resolved that ASUCI Legislative Council allocates
$250 from Council Unallocated account # 6501-7115 for the following
appropriations:
 -Fliers $36
 -Food/Drinks $134
 -Napkins/Plates/Cups $30
 -Decorations $30
 -Tax and Misc. $20

Let if further be resolved that this event occur on Thursday, February 16,
2005 from 9:00- 10:30am in front of the Computer Science Building.

Let it further be resolved that Legislative Council Members show their
support by attending the event and/or helping with the preparations.

Let it finally be resolved that the remaining funds be returned to Council
Unallocated account #6501-7115 at the conclusion of the event.
