Whereas, most Engineering students would like to conduct research because they plan to attend graduate school or gain hands-on experience to improve their chances of finding a job upon graduation, and

Whereas, an Engineering Undergraduate Research Event would give students the opportunity to learn about the various research opportunities available at UCI, while providing them with a chance to meet a panel of professors and students who share their interests, and

 Whereas, an Engineering Undergraduate Research Event would improve communication between students and faculty, and give the Engineering representatives a chance to gain insight and feedback from their constituents

Whereas, ASUCI will be providing money for purchasing snacks and refreshments for the event

Therefore, let it be resolved that ASUCI Legislative Council allocates $170 from Council Unallocated account # 6501-7115 for the following appropriations:

                                    Pizzas/Snacks: $150

                                    Napkins/Plates/Cups/Drinks: $50

                                    Tax and Misc.: $20

Let it further be resolved that this event occur on Thursday of Week 9 at 7pm in TBA

Let it further be resolved that Public Info be charged with the task of promoting this event.

Let it further be resolved that Legislative Council members show their support by attending the event and/or helping with the preparations.

Let it finally be resolved that any unused funds be returned to Council Unallocated # 6501-7115.
