REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Funds for Kiss In

 Whereas the University of California, Irvine is a place of learning and achievement through diversity, and

Whereas we especially recognize the contributions of our diverse LGBTQA faculty, staff, and students throughout the campus community, at the University of California, Irvine, and

Whereas we support the University of California, Irvine LGBTQA community and we encourage all to seek learning opportunities and utilize the resources offered to our community, and

Whereas, ASUCI will be providing money for the purchase of the most necessary items for the event, and a diverse number of LGBTQA members will help the School of Humanities representative by planning the event, set-up prior to the Kiss In, work at the event, and clean up once the event has ended,

Therefore, let it be resolved that $700.00 be allocated from the Council Unallocated account # 6501-7120 for the following, with remaining funds being returned 15 days after the event, for the purpose of purchasing:

Balloons: $100.00

Food and Give-Aways: $400.00

Polaroid Camera $40.00

Polaroid Film: $130.00

Let it furter be resolved that this event occur on Monday, February 12, 2007 from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Flag poles.

Let it further be resolved that Legislative Council Members show their support by attending the event and/or helping with the preparations.
