Whereas, prior to the destruction of the Old Student Center ASUCI purchased, sponsored, and operated a single Marquee which was used by ASUCI as well as other clubs and organizations on campus for informational purposes, and

Whereas, the Marquee used in the Old Student Center is technologically outdated, and

Whereas, a set of Marquees in the New Student Center would greatly enhanse the New Student Center, campus life, and UCI as a whole, and

Whereas, it is within the duties of members of Legislative Council to enact "legislation nessicary and proper for the general welfare of the undergraduate students" as outlined by Article IV, Section A, Point 1 of the ASUCI Constitution,

Let it therefore be resolved that ASUCI purchase two (2) LED Marquees for a total of $242,000 from the Unrestricted ASUCI Reserves Account to be installed into the New Student Center, opening in the year 2007, under the following specifications:

Sign A - 4' 19" X 12' LED mounted, installed with full video, text, graphics, animation capabilities for $140,000
Sign B - 5' 6" X 4' 9" LED mounted, installed with full video, text, graphics, animation capabilites for $102,000

Let it finally be resolved that the purchase of the LED Marquees follow specifications outlined in attached packet including: LED Specifications, Instillation, Bid Alternate, and Bidder Requirements.
