All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full. |

| Synopsis: Purchase of new ASUCI Shuttles | |

| Whereas, the ASUCI shuttle program is one of the most coveted aspects of ASUCI, and Whereas, since its inception in 1987, the service has grown from a modest two vans, to the current 13 bus fleet, where transportation is provided around the UCI campus, as well as to the off-campus Parkwest apartments, and Whereas, with the growth of the program comes a growing need for more buses, which will in turn provide more ridership, and get the name of ASUCI out to the UCI community in a very positive manner. Therefore, let it be resolved that $49, 425 be allocated from General Reserves account # 6010-7990 for the purchase of 3 new ASUCI shuttle buses as follows: -1991 Bluebird Vin # 1BAAGCSA5MF044223 - $10,500 -1991 Bluebird Vin # 1BAAGCSA5MF044339 - $10,500 -1992 Bluebird Vin # 1BAAGCSA4NF048574 - $10,500 -Paint - $3,950 x 3 buses = $11,850 -Vehicle Graphics - $175 x 3 buses = $525 -Delivery - $1,850 x 3 buses = $5,550 TOTAL = $49,425 Let it further be resolved that with the purchase of these 3 new buses, bus #231 will be sold due to the poor quality of it and the consistent need for repairs, and the money will be deposited back into General Reserves account # 6010-7990, to subsidize some of the cost of the new buses. Let it finally be resolved that ASUCI Legislative Council support this purchase, as well as the ASUCI Shuttle Program, which is one of the best business services that ASUCI has to offer annually. |
