REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Choco-Late-Night Studying Recovery

Whereas one of the goals of the Fine Arts rep is to encourage academics, and

Whereas finals week is a very stressful time for students, and

Whereas many events, sponsored by ASUCI during finals week, involve giving out coffee and energy drinks, and

Whereas scientific research has shown that caffeine and high doses of sucrose and glucose can greatly increase stress and anxiety levels, and

Whereas chocolate has been known to stimulate the mind and soothe the soul, and

Whereas the Fine Arts rep has genuine concern for the mental wellbeing of the general UCI student population, and

Whereas it would also provide an opportunity for the Fine Arts Representative to interact with his constituents,

Let it be resolved that ASUCI Legislative Council allocate $208 from Council Unallocated account # 6501-7120 to the following appropriations:
Ghirardelli Chocolate Squares [120CT Box] @ $57.60 ea. X 3 = $172.80
Tax and Misc. = $35.20

Let it further be resolved that this event will take place on Tuesday March 22, 2005 from Noon-2:00pm, near the Humanities Lecture Hall (HIB 100) and arts bridge,

Let it further be resolved that Legislative Council Members show their support by attending the event and/or helping with preparations,

Let it additionally be resolved that the left over chocolates be handed out at the remaining ASUCI finals week events,

Let it finally be resolved that the remaining funds be returned to Council Unallocated account #6501-7120 at the conclusion of the event.
