All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full. |

| Whereas, it is the duty of Legislative Council Representatives to address the concerns of their constituents, and Whereas, a large number of art students have expressed a concern for the lack of unity within the Claire Trevor School of the Arts, and Whereas, many art students graduate from UCI without the skills necessary to succeed in the art world outside of the university system, such as making slides, applying for shows, networking, etc, and Whereas, a group of current UCI students have formed We Can’t Draw, an art collective, with the goal of addressing those specific concerns, and Whereas, there has been great support and approval from the UCI faculty but a lukewarm response from students because of their lack of knowledge of the collective’s goals and events, and Whereas, a barbeque will help attract students and bring them together in an informal setting that will allow an exchange of ideas and an opportunity to inform them of the collective’s events, such as future workshops and an end of the year, underground art show, Therefore, let it be resolved that ASUCI Legislative Council allocate $320 from Council Unallocated account #6501-7120 for the following appropriations: Food - $200 Drinks - $40 Supplies: Lighter, Lighter fluid, Napkins, Plates, Cups, Utensils - $30 Tax and Misc. - $50 Let if further be resolved that this event occur on Sunday, May 29, from 12:00-3:00 PM, at a place yet to be determined on campus. Let it further be resolved that Legislative Council Members show their support by attending the event and/or helping with the preparations. Let it further be resolved that the remaining funds be returned to Council Unallocated account #6501-7120 at the conclusion of the event. Let it finally be resolved that this legislation shall be effective as of Thursday, May 26, 2005 in order for the event to occur at its scheduled time. |
