| Whereas, there currently is an open seat on the Legislative Council in the school of Humanities, and Whereas, it is the duty of the council members to promote student involvement in ASUCI and the campus as a whole, and Whereas, Legislative Council as being council members have special responsibilities, regardless of their being implicit or outlined in a constitution or by-laws, to inform fellow students of involvement opportunities, and Whereas, there is an open seat for Humanities and William King-Lewis is a current Humanities Representative and being such would potentially be able to identify and motivate students in that school more than other council members as their representative, and Whereas, it is not good to have open seats on council because less voices are heard at council meetings, and Whereas, it is the duties of the council to fill open seats, and Whereas, publicizing the ASUCI Legislative Council by encouraging students to run for open council seats creates awareness and involvement in AS and the campus as a whole, and Whereas, ASUCI currently has no tables and chairs for external use. Let it be resolved that $13.50 be allocated from the Council Unallocated account for the purpose of Tabling on Wednesday the 5th of October in the year 2005 for the promotion of the Humanities seat and AS as a whole, and that the funds go towards payment of the following: Table and chairs $13.50. |
