REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: ICS Undergraduate Research Event

Whereas, most ICS students would like to conduct research because they plan to attend graduate school or gain hands-on experience to improve their chances of finding a job upon graduation, and Whereas, an ICS Undergraduate Research Event would give students the opportunity to learn about the various research opportunities available at UCI, while providing them with a chance to meet a panel of professors and students who share their interests, and Whereas, an ICS Undergraduate Research Event would improve communication between students/faculty, and give the ICS representative a chance to gain insight and feedback from her constituents, and Wheras, ASUCI will be providing money for purchasing snacks and refreshments for the event, Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) will work with the ICS Representative by helping to plan the event, pass out fliers, set-up prior to the event, work at the event, and clean up once the event has ended, Therefore, let it be resolved that ASUCI Legislative Council allocates $200 from Council Unallocated account # 6501-7115 for the following appropriations: * 2 Croissant Choice Trays ($40 each) * 1 Fresh Salad Tray ($50 each) * 2 Brownie Bites Trays ($15 each) * Tax and Misc. ($40) Let if further be resolved that this event occur on Monday, November 7, 2005 of Week 7 at 6pm in the McDonnel Douglas Engineering Auditorium. Let it finally be resolved that any unused funds be returned to Council Unallocated #6501-7115.
