REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Students of Color Conference

Whereas, the University of California Student Association, to which our association belongs, annually holds a Student of Color Conference to be a forum to discuss the unique challenges and barriers that students of color face; and

Whereas, on October 16, 2005 the Board of Directors approved the bid for UC Irvine to host the conference in conjunction with our campus Board meeting; and

Whereas the registration fees will cover the entire cost of the conference, but funds are needed to pay for the initial reservations;

Therefore, let it be resolved that the following transaction is made:

From: $1500 from UCSA Contribution (6427-7160)
To: UCI Board Meeting (6403-7160)

Let it be further resolved that once the registration fees have been collected, that the full amount be returned to UCSA Contribution (6427-7160)

Let it finally be resolved that ASUCI officially recognize and endorse this event.
