REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: International Day

Whereas one of the goals of Legislative Council is to bring unity and spirit to the campus.

Whereas already existing events such as Wayzgoose bring together different organizations on campus and are successful each year.

Whereas student clubs and organizations need more oppurtunity to be represented and get their name out on campus.

Let it be resolved that a temporary subcommittee be created to aid in the planning of International Day.

Let it be resolved that International Day be held on Thursday April 12, 2007 from 10am-2pm on ring road.

Let it be resolved that Public Info will publicize the event and make posters.

Let it further be resolved that Public Info will table to publicize ASUCI and host an informational booth for the event.

Let it further be resolved that ASUCI Legislative Council allocates $2200 from Council Unallocated account # 6501-7115 for the following appropriations:

  • Tables/chairs: $11x 25 = 275 (the first 25 clubs to sign up will be sponsored for tables and chairs)
  • PA system: $25
  • Stage: $400
  • Trashcans: $3.50x10= 35
  • 3/4 New University Ad: $510
  • Posters: $480
  • $500: Prizes ($250-1st place, $150-2nd place, $100 3rd place)


Let it finally be resolved that any remaining funds be returned to Council Unallocated account # 6501-7115 at the conclusion of the event.
