REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Council Funding for the UCSA Students of Color Conference

Whereas the ASUCI budget was drafted last June with the expectation of similar attendance and costs as the previous two years,

Whereas the demand for UC Irvine attendants was almost double the volume seen in pervious years, resulting in a significant shortfall of budgeted funds,

Whereas the cost of sending the UC Irvine delegation has changed, resulting in a greater shortfall of funds, on three separate occassions due to misreported costs from the UC Santa Cruz organizing committee,

Whereas external funding for the Students of Color Conference has been secured from various other sources, but the budget for for the event in the Office of the Executive Vice President still remains out of balance,

Let it be resolved that $1,000 be appropriated from Council Unallocated (7115-6501) to help offset this negative balance in External Affairs (7160-6403).
