All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Memorial Bench in Aldrich Park

Whereas on Dec 17th, 2007 Syed Ali, a fourth year student in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering passed away as a result of a tragic car accident,

Whereas his sudden departure from the UCI community was felt profoundly by his fellow students, and

Whereas in commemoration of Syed, his family and friends are raising funds to purchase a memorial bench to be placed in Aldrich Park where a candlelight vigil will be held in his honor, and

Whereas the cost of this bench provided through the University is $3,000, of which $2,000 has already been raised,

Let it be resolved that the remaining balance of $1,000, necessary for the ordering and commemoration of this bench, be provided for from Council Unallocated (Acct. 6501-7120) Funds so that this bench and the candlelight vigil can take place.
