REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Humanities Midterm Study Break

Whereas, it is the responsibility of ASUCI to improve student life on campus, and

 Whereas, Council Member Botwin had an excellent idea for a Social Sciences Study Break and other schools should express their solidarity by hosting like events and

 Whereas, it is a goal of the Humanities Representatives to encourage both communication and camaraderie in the School of Humanities and

Whereas, a study break during midterms (week 5) would provide students with a friendly atmosphere where they can relax before and after midterms and socialize with fellow students, and

Whereas, a study break would foster a positive flow of information and ideas through the interaction between the Humanities Representatives and their constituents, and

Whereas, a study break would provide an opportunity to discover, learn, and asses many concerns of the students in the School of Humanities.

Therefore, let it be resolved that a Humanities Study Break be held fifth week of Winter Quarter in the Humanities section of Ring Road. Let it further be resolved that $445 be allocated from Council Unallocated Account #6501-7120 towards the following estimated appropriations: Food: $300 Tables/chairs/trashcans: $100 Survey Supplies: $20 Midterm Supplies: $25 Let it further be resolved that all remaining funds unused after the event be returned to Council Unallocated Account #6501-7120. Let it finally be resolved that all ASUCI Legislative Council members support and publicize the event!
