REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL |

All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full. |

| Synopsis: School Of Biological Sciences' Club Fair | |

| Whereas, the current Biological Sciences Representatives want to improve the communication and awareness between Bio Sci Clubs and Bio Sci students, Whereas, the current Bio Sci Representatives, along with the Bio Sci Student Affairs Office, made a commitment to participate in hosting an event aimed at increasing their constituents' awareness of these clubs,
Whereas, the Bio Sci Student Affairs Office and the Bio Sci Representatives are not holding quarterly Bio Sci Superclub forums for this year,
Whereas, this event is the only event the Bio Sci Affairs Office and the Bio Sci Representatives want to put all their effort and funding towards,
Whereas, this event will be larger than last year and will accommodate more clubs and students this year,
Whereas, this event will also have representatives from various departments of UCI College of Medicine,
Whereas, each individual club willing to participate in this club fair will be responsible for setting up their own booth, along with providing information to bypassing students,
Whereas, the Bio Sci Representatives will also have an ASUCI information booth set up,
Whereas, other legislative council members will be encouraged to participate in this event,
Whereas, providing pizza and drinks will help attract faculty and students and bring them together in an informal setting that will allow them to exchange ideas and information about the clubs, and
Whereas, the Bio Sci Student Affairs Office will work with the Bio Sci Representatives by helping to plan the event, pass out fliers, set-up prior to the event, work at the event, and clean up once the event has ended,
Therefore, let it be resolved that ASUCI Legislative Council allocates $900 from Council Unallocated account #6501-7120 for the following appropriations:
-$250 for tables, chairs, and trashcans (20 Tables = $200, 40 chairs = $40, 3 trashcans = $10.50)
-$500 Pizza and Soda
-$150 for all other provisions necessary for the event which may include but is not limited to utensils, plates, napkins, fliers, decorations and cups.
Let it finally be resolved that this event occur on the third week of Spring Quarter 2008 in front of the Science Library. |
