REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: School of Information and Computer Sciences Spring Event

Whereas, it is the duty of the Information and Computer Science (ICS) Representative to improve communication and awareness between ICS Clubs and ICS students,

Whereas, the ICS Representative, along with the ICS Student Affairs Office, made a commitment to participate in hosting an event aimed at increasing their constituents' awareness of these clubs,

Whereas, this event is the only event the ICS Representative is throwing this year that requires funding,

Whereas, all three ICS clubs, Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), Women in Computer Science (WICS), and Informatics Students Association (INSA), are participating,

Whereas, each club participating is partaking in fund raising efforts,

Whereas, providing food and drinks will help attract faculty and students and bring them together in an fun and informal setting,

Whereas, several competitive games and events are planned to enrich the event,

Whereas, promotion, setup and coordination of the event will be a joint effort between the clubs and the ICS Representative,

Whereas, other Legislative Council members are welcome to participate in this event,

Whereas, anticipated expenses for the event are as follows:

Food: $1000

T-shirts: $1000

Dunk tank rental: $300-$500

Classroom Equipment: $60

Therefore, let it be resolved that ASUCI Legislative Council allocates $600 from Council Unallocated account #6501-7120 to help fund the event,

Let it finally be resolved that this event occur on May 20th, 2008 between 11:30 and 1:30 in the plaza between Computer Science and the Engineering Tower.
