REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Anteater Pride Week

Whereas, UCI students generally state that a lack of school spirit is on of the greatest problems at this university, and

Whereas, there is a strong correlation between school spirit and school pride, and

Whereas, it is the responsibility of the ASUCI Legislative Council to “enhance the qualify of student life” and foster an enjoyable and enriching university experience for the undergraduate students of UCI (ASUCI Constitution, Preamble), and

Whereas, an education and social event that informed students about the prestigious accomplishments achieved and unique opportunities provided by UCI would be beneficial to the student body at large,

Therefore, let it be resolved that during Week 7 of the 2008 Spring Quarter the ASUCI Legislative Council host an Anteater Pride Week comprised of daily events that highlight the triumphs of Academics, Athletics, Culture, Greek community and Social atmosphere at UCI.

Let it also be resolved that $2060 be appropriated from Council Unallocated Account #6501-7120 to cover the following costs:

Tables and chairs: $400

PA System (75 x 4 days): $300

Trashcans: $60

Food: $800

Bookstore giveaways: $300

Decorations: $200

And, let it finally be resolved let all remaining funds be returned to Council Unallocated at the conclusion of said event.
