REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Bio Sci Finals Study Break

Whereas, it is the responsibility of ASUCI to improve student life on campus, and

Whereas, it is a goal of the Biological Science Representatives to encourage both a spirited social and learning environment throughout the UCI campus, and

Whereas, a study break during Week 10 would provide students with a friendly atmosphere where they can relax before finals, and

Whereas, a study break would foster a positive flow of information and ideas through the interaction between the Biological Science Representatives and their constituents, and

Whereas, a study break would provide an opportunity to discover, learn, and asses many concerns of students in the school of Biological Sciences, and

Whereas, a study break would bring students together to discuss the recent issues in student fee increases, and

Whereas, the student body could come together to sign tangible letters lobbying against student fee increases that will be sent directly to the state government.

Therefore, let it be resolved that a pre-finals study break be held the 10th week of Fall Quarter on Wednesday December 3rd on ring road in front of the Science Library.

Let it further be resolved that $700 be allocated from Council Unallocated Account #6501-7120 towards the following estimated appropriations:

Food/Drinks/Snacks: $400
Tables/chairs/trashcans: $100
Finals Supplies: $100
Letters to Regents: $80
Survey Supplies: $20


Let it further be resolved that all remaining funds unused after the event be returned to Council Unallocated Account #6501-7120.

Let it finally be resolved that all ASUCI Legislative Council members support and publicize the event!
