REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Legislative Council Open Forum

Whereas, public attendance and engagement in council sessions should be improved,

 

Whereas, students should be informed of how to voice concerns and issues

 

Whereas, Legislative Council has discussed the need for an event which will publicize our meetings and allow us to interact with students and hear their issues,

 

Therefore, let it be resolved that Legislative Council hold the Legislative Council Open Forum on Thursday, February 12th from 12pm-2pm at the Student Center

 

Let it further be resolved that ASUCI Legislative Council allocates $400 from Council Unallocated account # 6501-7120 for the following appropriations:

 

3 tables and chairs: $30

P.A. and extra microphone: $45

Podium: $20

Popcorn machine and popcorn: $200

Water bottles: $100

 

Let it further be resolved that each special committee prepare a brief presentation about the issues relevant to that committee and participate in a question and answer session, that all council members will be in attendance unless an appropriate excuse it submitted to the Public Info chair no later than Tuesday, February 10th at 5pm, and that Public Info will publicize this event,

 

Let it finally be resolved that any remaining funds be returned to Council Unallocated account #6501-7120 at the conclusion of the event.
