REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Winter Quarter Undie Run of UC Irvine

Whereas, the Legislative Council of ASUCI should actively encourage campus pride and campus life, and

 

Whereas, the unofficial Undie Run of UC Irvine has been an outlet of such campus pride and life by undergraduate students of UC Irvine, and

 

Whereas, the Undie Run of Fall Quarter 2008 was attended by over 300 undergraduate students, and

 

Whereas, the continuing popularity of the Undie Run should be encouraged by ASUCI as a form of campus pride and life, and

 

Whereas, the growing participation of the Undie Run presents significant concern for the safety and decency of the campus and its students, and

 

Whereas, ASUCI should support safety and decency measures for the students of UC Irvine as they express their campus pride and spirit, and

 

Whereas, the Winter Quarter Undie Run of UC Irvine shall be held on March 13th, 2009, from 7:45PM to 9:30PM,

 

Therefore, let it be resolved that ASUCI Legislative Council allocates $150 from Council Unallocated Account #6501-7120 for the following appropriations:

 

Publicity $100
Safety and Decency Materials $50

 

Let it further be resolved that the ASUCI Legislative Council banner be hung during the start and the end of the event to express Legislative Council’s support for campus pride and spirit,

 

Let it finally be resolved that the remaining funds be returned to the Council Unallocated Account #6501-7120.
