REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Legislative Council New Member Retreat

Whrereas, the 2008-2009 school year is nearly over,

Whereas, the spring elections will result in the election of new legislative council members. 

Whereas, education and familiarity with ASUCI is essential for new member productivity,

Whereas, a culture of education and efficacy is necessary for proper student representation,

Whereas, a retreat for new Legislative Council members would address these needs and give the new members an opportunity to interact with senior members,

Whereas, a retreat would also allow senior and returning members to impart information to new members,

Therefore, let it be resolved that a Legislative Council Educational Retreat occur May 17th, 2009 from 11am-3pm in the student center.

Therefore, let is also be resolved that $655 be allocated from the Council Unallocated Account # 6501-7120 in the following amounts:

$105.00—Room Set Up
$250.00—Lunch
$250.00—Personality Strength Tests
$50.00—Snacks

Therefore, let it finally be resolved that all unused funds be returned to the Council Unallocated Account.
