All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Creation of Stipend for the Editor of the ASUCI Newsletter

Whereas, per the Constitution, commissioners in ASUCI may receive remuneration for their work,

Whereas, ASUCI has created a newsletter to make students aware of important issues on campus, share the advocacy work that ASUCI is doing and publicize upcoming events,

Whereas, publishing a newsletter involves a great deal of work coordinating writers and editing articles,

Whereas, the Executive Cabinet has selected Sandeep Abraham as editor for two issues of The 'Vine newsletter in 2010,

Whereas, the first issue was published in January and a second issue will be released in April,

Let it therefore be resolved, that Legislative Council confirm Sandeep Abraham's appointment to the newly created position of Newsletter Editor,

Let it further be resolved, that the Newsletter Editor receive a stipend of $200 for each of the two newsletter issues published in 2010,

Let it finally be resolved that a new stipend account be created under the Student Media Commission, entitled "Newsletter Editor," and given account number (6012-7030) and that $400 be transferred from the Student Media Program Costs account (6423-7030) into the new stipend account.
