Whereas, the Executive Vice President's office has taken students across the state
for the purpose of conferences, lobbying and campus action this year, 

Whereas, the budget of the Executive Vice President's office has therefore been
extensively used, 

Whereas, 100 students attended Students of Color Conference, 

Whereas, there is an upcoming Womyn of Color Conference being hosted by the External
Vice President's office at the University of California, Santa Barbara, 

Whereas, Womyn of Color issues are often not addressed in spaces such as student
government and therefore, this community needs a space to talk about and work on
it's issues, 

Whereas, the number of voting women members of Legislative Council started at two,
and has now increased to six, but still does not reflect the campus, 

Whereas, budget for the Womyn of Color conference was not previously included in the
budget for the Executive Vice President's office, 

Whereas, there are numerous students interested in attending the Womyn of Color
Conference on April 24th-26th in Santa Barbara, 

Whereas, registration fee for this conference is only $20 a student, 

Whereas, total cost per student will be approximately $100, 

Whereas, as an active part of the UC community, it is recommended that UCI send a
delegation of approximately 15 students, 

Whereas, Legislative Council has an unallocated budget for occasions such as this, 

Let it be resolved that Legislative Council allocate $800 for the full cost of 8
students to the Womyn of Color Conference .

Let it further be resolved that the Executive Vice President's office request
funding from students who are interested in attending and the Vice Chancellor of
Student Affairs, the Women's Studies Department, the School of Social Sciences, and
various other departments on campus. 

Let it further be resolved that Legislative Council be encouraged to advertise the
conference to their constituents.
