All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full. |

Whereas, the Office of the Executive Vice President and the University of California Student Association have been advocating on students’ behalf for higher education, Whereas, there is an upcoming event called Bridging the Gap: Discussion on Higher Education being hosted by the Associated Students of University of California, Irvine, Office of the Executive Vice President, Whereas, the event will be held on May 19, 2010 from 6 to 8 PM in Doheny Beach A, B, C, Whereas, the budget of the Office of the Executive Vice President has therefore been extensively used, Whereas, building coalitions, mass protesting, lobbying, and using voter registration as leverage, the momentum of students has been gaining strength, Whereas, an open space is needed for elected officials, UC Irvine administration and student leaders to discuss the lack of state funding for higher education and securing funding for students in the future, Whereas, Legislative Council has an unallocated budget for occasions such as this, Let it be resolved that Legislative Council allocates $500 to fund Bridging the Gap: Discussion on Higher Education.
