REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Purchase of New Furniture

Whereas, the ASUCI office staff is expanding and it will be necessary to rearrange the office space to meet there needs,

Whereas, the Marketing Coordinator will be moving to the current Shuttle Driver Lounge so that there is space for her and her three marketing interns to work,
 
Whereas, the office space for the Shuttle Operators is coordinated for one staff member instead of two and the existing arrangement is not conducive to efficient work,
 
Whereas, ASUCI will likely be acquiring a new staff member to help process check requests and manage club accounts and this will require converting one of the existing cubicles into a functional work space,
 
Whereas, Tangram, the University approved furniture provider recently came to assess the existing office spaces and provide quotes for new furniture,
 
Whereas, the furniture needs to be purchased over the summer so that it can be installed with minimum inconvenience to students and staff,
 
Let it therefore be resolved that ASUCI Legislative Council approve $8,500 from ASUCI Reserves to purchase new furniture for these spaces.
 
Let it finally be resolved that all unspent funds at the conclusion of the project shall remain in ASUCI Reserves
