Whereas, the Office of the Executive Vice President is charged with the responsibility of budgeting and sending UCI representatives to the annual Students of Color Conference (SOCC),

Whereas, this year's SOCC budget was insufficient to cover all the necessary UCI SOCC facilitators which are necessary for the function and success of the Students of Color Conference,

Whereas, in an effort to fulfill UCI's obligations to the SOCC and its students, it is recommended to increase the Office of the Executive Vice Presidents SOCC budget,

Therefore let these changes come into effect immediately so that the students are best served.

Transfer $750 from Acct# 6501-7120 (Council Unallocated Use)
To:
$750 Students of Color Conference (Acct# 6423-7160)

These extra funds will be distributed through a reimbursement program after the conference and are to be used strictly to cover hotel costs. (4 people to a room at $150 per night in addition to fees and tax)

This allocation is to cover the following facilitators from their respective organizations,

Asian Pacific Student Association:

Clive Chan

Ryan Abshire

Kababayan:

Arman Liwanag

Jedrek Dineros

Mika Smith

Huong-Binh Nguyen

Independent:

Andrew Simmons

REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.
