All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full. |

| Synopsis: Transfer of funds to USSA Travel for LegCon | |

| Whereas, the Associated Students of UC Irvine joined the United States Students Association (herein USSA) on a one year trial for the 2010-2011 academic year, and; Whereas, the budget allocated by the Executive Vice President to the USSA was limited in resources, and; Whereas, the Executive Vice President’s Office held the University of California Student Association Congress at UC Irvine and managed to plan so that a surplus remained, and; Whereas, USSA is holding their annual Legislative Conference (LegCon) at Washington, D.C. March 19-22, 2011 which focuses on federal advocacy for student issues, and the Executive Vice President’s Office did not have the following costs budgeted at the beginning of the fiscal year: Registration fee $225 / person Whereas, the surplus from UCSA Congress would allow the Executive Vice President’s Office to fund the travel of the USSA Commissioners, the Executive Vice President, and other leaders of ASUCI (including council members and commissioners) and the UC Irvine community (from campus organizations), and; Whereas, it is imperative that a diverse group of leaders attend to fulfill all diversity requirements outlined by the USSA, and; Whereas, the conference is the official forum for students to advocate for UC Irvine at Washington, D.C.; Let it be resolved, that the surplus of $8,454.42 from UCSA Congress (6429-7160) be transferred to USSA Travel (6409-7160) to assure the participation of our campus leaders in the USSA LegCon. |
