Whereas, the Judicial Board is having an event, titled “Meet Your ASUCI Judicial Board,” on Thursday, April 14^th, 2011 at Doheny Beach B – Student Center,

Whereas, this event would allow students not affiliated with ASUCI to learn about Student Government’s judicial process and learn how to file formal and informal complaints to address their grievances,

Whereas, this event will provide publicity for the Judicial Board which will help increase application yield for the current and future vacancies,

Whereas, the Judicial Board has had an influx of new members in the previous and current quarter and this event would allow Legislative Council members and Executive Cabinet members to meet and acquaint themselves with many of the newest members of the Board,

Whereas, the Judicial Board budget is very minimal and was not made with expenses for such events in mind,

Whereas, the Judicial Branch cannot fund this event in full without making it difficult or impossible for the Board to have a retreat, which is necessary to incorporate and train the new members and build a healthy group dynamic before the upcoming elections,

Whereas, the costs associated with the event are as follows:

Student Center room…... $96.00

Food…...………………………. $266.00

Fliers…………………………... $154.00

Total………………………….. $516.00

Whereas, the Judicial Branch is seeking additional funds to cover these expenses,

Let it therefore be resolved that $225.00 be allocated from Legislative Council’s Unallocated account (6501-7120), to be allocated to the Judicial Board’s Contingency account (6420-7500).
