REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Legislative Council to SPFB Account Reallocation

 Whereas the Student Programming Funding Board (SPFB) for ASUCI is running out of money and there are less than five weeks remaining in the Spring Quarter 2011,

 
Whereas the Student Programming Funding Board (SPFB) has less than $3,000 remaining in its account to fund clubs for the remainder of the quarter,
 
Whereas SPFB has not fully funded any of the club applications and has seen a record number of applicants due to budget cuts,
 
Whereas SPFB has over twenty remaining applications and counting for the rest of the quarter,
 
Whereas ASUCI funds should be used to the best serve the UCI undergraduate student population and enhance student life,
 
Whereas Legislative Council’s Council Unallocated account has been used to fund student clubs, organizations, and events in the past,
 
Whereas the reallocation of Legislative Council’s Unallocated account will serve as a way for Legislative Council give back to UCI clubs and events,
 
Whereas Legislative Council advises SPFB to efficiently and optimally utilize its funds in the future years.
 
Let it be resolved that $2500 be taken from Council Unallocated (6501-7120) to Program Costs/Funding (6423-7600)
 

Let it further be resolved Legislative Council establishes and agrees with the notion that this fund reallocation is vital to SPFB and is not to be set as a precedent for future years.
