REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: School of Social Ecology Dean Luncheon

Whereas the ASUCI Legislative Council School of Social Ecology Representative office has not held an event during the 2010-2011 school year,

Whereas Dean Valerie Jenness was officially confirmed to her office this September 2010,

Whereas the Social Ecology Representatives wish to welcome Dean Jenness through an informal luncheon event, and additionally use this opportunity to inspire increased participation in campus organizations and research,

Whereas Dean Jenness would use such an event to make herself available to students to discuss areas of satisfaction and concern with the school,

Whereas the date of the planned event, Wednesday May 25th (Week 9) coincides closely with the stressful and turbulent finals period,

Whereas the event would serve as a welcome break and morale booster to students preparing for and taking finals, and particularly as a reward for graduating Seniors,

Whereas the absence of a Social Ecology Representative for several months this year has resulted in a small surplus in reserve funds,

Let it be resolved that $159.06 be transferred from Council Unallocated Account (#6501-7120) to cover the cost of the event as detailed:

30 Posters (FedEx Office): $3.60
