REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Stipend Division of Antleader Mentorship Program and Academic Engagement Commissioner Positions

Whereas, prior to the official appointment of staff for the Office of Academic Affairs, it is necessary to split the stipend for two commissions,

Whereas, after conducting interviews during the Spring Quarter of 2012, the Vice President of Academic Affairs, Neil Bautista, decided that creating co-commissioners for certain commissions would be beneficial,

Whereas, Kylie Baranowski and Claudine Magsino are co-commissioners for the Academic Engagement commission of the Office of Academic Affairs,

Whereas, Stephanie Catubig and Thomas Hom are co-commissioners for the Antleader Mentorship Program commission of the Office of Academic Affairs,

Whereas, Graciela Fernandez, the director of the Student Outreach and Retention Center (SOAR), has expressed her approval of the splitting of the AMP commissioner position into two, 

Whereas, the stipends for each commissioner are reflected below:

6012-7250: Stipend for the Academic Engagement Commissioner ($100) per month,

6012-7230: Stipend for the Antleader Mentorship Program Commissioner ($100) per month,

Let it be resolved that the stipends of each commissioner (a monthly sum of $100) be divided in two (a monthly sum of $50 for each commissioner),

Let it finally be resolved that Stephanie Catubig, Thomas Hom, Kylie Baranowski, and Claudine Magsino, be the recepients of each $50 dollar stipend per commission (beginning in Novemeber).
