Synopsis: Reimbursement for Pink Dot Campaign
Date of Presentation:

Whereas, Legislative Council ran a successful booth that increased its visability and campaigned for individuals to become organ donors; and

Whereas, this took place on April 20th, 2013 at UCI’s Wayzgoose festival, where over 5000 anteaters, past, present, future, and their families were present; and

Whereas, in order for Council’s booth to be as inclusive as possible Public Info committee felt there needed to be an item to attract attention that fell outside the budget of the Belko Donation; and

Whereas, the Belko donation became the “Pink Dot Campaign” to represent the importance of becoming an organ donor and adding a pink dot to one’s California Identification Card/ Driver’s License; and

Whereas, the giveaway aimed at including non-students and representing the campaign was locally made salt water taffy in multiple flavors and shades of pink; and

Whereas, the cost of this candy was $45.19 and totaled roughly 300 pieces; and

Whereas, Public Info committee also needed a means of running the raffle for a prize covered by the Belko Donation; and

Whereas, raffle tickets are the most effiecient means of running such an event; and

Whereas, the cost of raffle tickets and a bucket to hold the tickets and candy totaled $10.36;

Let it be resolved, that these costs be reimbursed from Legislative Council’s unallocated fund (6501-7115)in the amount of $55.55; and

Let it be further be resolved, this reimbursement be made directly to Ashleigh Richardson/Ferguson who made the initial payment for these items.
