REQUEST FOR ACTION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 
 
All requests may be typed and submitted to the Executive Vice President no later 5:00 p.m. Thursday in order to be included in the agenda for the following Tuesday. The Executive Vice President reserves the right to delay the Request for Action to a later Council session if the Executive Vice President feels the agenda for the next schedule meeting is full.

Synopsis: Meet Your Legislative Council Representative

Whereas Legislative Council can benefit from increased publicity,

Whereas boothing and handing out free stuff is an effective way of publicizing to UCI students,

Whereas it is good for students at UCI to see that their funds toward ASUCI are being used for the students,

Whereas UCI students love getting free stuff for finals,

Whereas Wednesday of Week 9 (May. 29, 2013) is ideal for handing out free stuff for finals,

Whereas handing out free stuff for finals can double as our Legislative Council tabling requirement,

Let it be resolved that Legislative Council set up a booth in front of ASUCI on Wednesday (May. 29, 2013) from 11am-1pm to give out scantrons, bluebooks, pencils, mugs, plushes, and snacks purchased using funds from Legislative Council’s unallocated fund (6501-7115) with the following amounts:

F-288 scantrons (250 count/unit price $.19) - $47.50

F-158 scantrons (250 count/unit price $.19) - $47.50

Large bluebook (250 count/unit price $.31) - $77.50

Anteater plush (1 count/unit price $34.95) – $34.95

Fruit and snacks - $100

Movie tickets (10 count/unit price $10) - $100

Water Bottles or Equivalent - 513.25

Taxes - Around $75

Total - $995.7 

 

Let it further be resolved that every council member free at the time allocate at least 1 hour to tabling on Wednesday (May. 29, 2013), sign up sheet to be passed out after meeting.
