Whereas the ASUCI Legislative Council has had multiple vacancies for Legislative Council Seats since the beginning of this year, and

Whereas the allocated stipends of $75.00 a month for all vacant seats and $100.00 for all vacant chairs have thus far not been withdrawn from the account, and

Whereas all remaining funds in Council’s Payroll Account currently exceed the amount necessary to pay all currently filled seats for the remaining of Spring Quarter 2014, and

Whereas an informal poll of ASUCI representatives have suggested a need for funding for events and programs such as (but not limited to) Biological Sciences Week, Legislative Council sweatshirts, a potential Engineering Meet-Your-Counselors event, and

 Whereas ASUCI commissioners are allotted stipends per the ASUCI Constitution,

Let it be resolved that the monetary balance of Leg Council Payroll account #6012-7115, be reduced from $5,754.00 to $3,850.00, which is reflective of the amount of representatives currently in office (14*$75 + $75 for Liaison + $125 for Chairs/Speaker positions +$2600 for prior year pay), and

Let it further be resolved that $945 be set aside to pay Campus Action Team Director Caroline Nguyen, who has been performing her duties without monetary compensation, and

Let it further be resolved that $630 be set aside to pay Transparency  Co- Director Allen Chiu, who has also been performing his duties without monetary compensation, and

Let if further be resolved that the excess funds be transferred to Council Unallocated Account #5501-7115 for further use as determined by future bills and legislation, and

Let it finally be resolved that ASUCI Legislative Council representatives actively seek with their constituents, methods to put the additional funds to good use for the welfare of their respective schools and/or the collective student body.
